Flooring, Tile, and Backsplash

The fun part has begun! We get to choose some of the interior items, today! It was really hard to make a decision. They keep throwing upgrade options in the mix which made it really tempting.

After about 2 hours, we stuck to our guns. We decided to go with a contemporary style, and hardwood throughout the main level Carpet in the basement/upper rooms level.

 Bonus--- not many upgrades :)


I really like the white cabinet look. It is light and airy. I'm so happy Ivan agree's with my decorating style. We did upgrade the backsplash from the plain 4 tile to more of a brick looking tile.  I looooveeee the granite. Originally we were going with the lighter hardwood....BUT....

 

after a few text messages to my mom and the girls (Colleen, Pammy, and Lisa) I went with my gut and went darker. I am absolutely in LOVE with this....

 

My phone died before we chose the bathroom tile and carpet but it is in the same direction. :) 

It's Official

As our lease ends, we decided it is time for us to buy. The question was, "where"? We really do love the Manassas area. Unfortunately, with the I-66 renovation about to happen, Ivan's DC commute, and the high cost of living.. it just makes sense for us to consider different areas.

So, Ivan and I were driving back from Winchester and noticed a new restaurant being advertised. As we went to check it out, we noticed they are now building new homes around it. When we saw the price, we joked "with what we pay in Manassas, we could build our dream home in Winchester."

We keep driving and notice the model home is open, so we go in. 3 hours later...WE FELL IN LOVE!

After multiple visits with our Sales Rep, Shaun (Hands down, awesome guy) We have officially signed a contract with Ryan Homes!! We are so excited to start this journey and share it with our family and friends.
